Architecture and Fine Arts Library

The Architecture and Fine Arts Library (AFA) is in room 104 of the Architecture Building. By providing access to a core print collection and digital research resources, the Library supports teaching, learning and research in the following areas:

  • Art
  • Art History
  • Architecture
  • Film/Video Studies
  • Graphic Design
  • Interior Design
  • Landscape Design
  • Music
  • Photography

In addition to the circulating books, reference books, current periodicals, and bound periodicals, the Library has maps, architecture and art portfolios, music scores, and rare books. Media holdings include videos in both VHS and DVD format, music CD's, and over 8,000 music LP's. AFA serves as the archive for the UT Arlington Music Department concerts http://libraries.uta.edu/concerts/.

Services

Study Areas
The Architecture and Fine Arts Library (AFA) provides comfortable seating, carrels, and tables. Tables in the front of the Library may also be used for group study. A quiet study area is provided in the rear of the Library.

Research Resources & Assistance
The UT Arlington Library's subscribes to a wealth of databases and e-journals. Knowledgeable librarians are available for research consultation and guidance in using these resources.

Computers & Wireless Network
Sixteen computers and three wireless laptops (library use only) are available that require UT Arlington authentication. These provide access to the library's online catalog, electronic resources and the Internet, and include the Microsoft Office Suite. Quota-based printing is available.

Copiers
Two self-service copiers, one black and white and one color, are provided in the Library. Copiers accept money or copy cards.

Listening Lab
The listening lab has equipment for viewing VHS and DVD's; listening stations for cassettes, CD's, and LP albums; and computers with piano keyboards. Headphones are available.
