Population Index Guide
Introduction
Published since 1935, the Population Index is the primary reference tool to the world's population and demography literature. It presents an annotated bibliography of recently published books, journal articles, working papers, doctoral dissertations, and machine-readable data files. It is updated quarterly from 1986 to the present. The pre-1986 issues of Population Index are available through JSTOR.

Population Index from 1935 to 1985, is available to current UT Arlington faculty and students at this web address:

Searching

The 1986 to the present portion of the Population Index had a lucid User's Guide; please examine it for more search tips. However two features need to be mentioned here, the truncation function in the Population Index is an set by a MATCH button which turns automatic truncation on or off. Also, phrase searching is automatic in the Free Text search area.

For the older portion of the database, the 1935 to 1985 portion, please examine the JSTOR Guide for searching tips.
