The University of Texas at Arlington Libraries and the Texas Innovation Group wish to thank everyone who completed our Makerspace survey! The survey is now closed, and winners of incentive prizes have been notified. In all, we received 169 attempted survey responses with 79 completed. Although we would have loved to have had even more respondents, we more than met our initial goal of 100 attempts with 25 completed. We realized this was a monster of a survey, and wish to give special thanks to those of you who muscled through to the end!

We would also like to thank our friends at...

On Saturday, November 19th, Morgan Chivers and I presented to the 2016 Library Information Technology Association (LITA) Forum in Fort Worth!

Our presentation covered the goals of the Task Force, the work we've done so far, lessons learned, challenges faced, and...

Four of those are sessions that I would love to be able to attend, but I can only chose one. I am exasperated by the idea that they are providing over 540 sessions in...

We have started a peer-to-peer research service where students are trained to provide assistance to other students for help with their research projects and course assignments. The Research Coaches help students develop topics, create search strategies, find relevant resources, and use proper citation. The Coaches are highly-motivated and experienced students that show an interest in research and in helping other students be successful in their academic careers.

The UTA Library went through a significant reorganization a few years ago and as part of those changes the reference desk...

I had the opportunity to attend ACRL’s week-long Immersion Teacher Track this past July in Burlington, Vermont.  According to their website, “Teacher Track focuses on individual development for those who are interested in enhancing, refreshing, or extending their individual instruction.  Curriculum includes teaching techniques, learning theory, leadership, and assessment framed in the context of information literacy.”

Although this was a super intense week, we had class or activities planned from 8am – 8pm, I found it so beneficial.  While I feel l have a strong understanding...
