Giving

The Libraries are at the heart of UTA's intellectual community, and at the heart of the Libraries is its services and collections. Despite the growing complexity of modern libraries, the UTA Libraries has a single mission: to provide quality and innovative services to our users. In order to fulfill this mission, we invite individuals, organizations, and businesses to participate in improving and expanding library services through gifts and donations.

Outright or Deferred Gifts

Gifts of cash made outright, by bequest, or by a lifetime-income gift, such as a trust, may be directed to a variety of uses, including the purchase of library materials or equipment or the support of special programs and services. The UT Arlington Library would be happy to assist persons interested in creating bequests or lifetime-income gifts.

Endowment Gifts

Gifts may be made to an existing library endowment. Current endowments, which have been established to support library enhancements and improvements, include:

Adopt a Journal

Your gift will help to ensure access to print and electronic journals that are critical to the scholarly work done at UT Arlington.

Honorary and Memorial Books

A digital bookplate is a unique and meaningful way to recognize a donor's gift that supports the growth of the library's collections — a crucial part of the continued success of UT Arlington’s students, faculty and researchers. Each title acquired with the gift is listed in the library's online catalog and given a permanent link back to the donor's bookplate displayed on the library's website.

Donate Materials

Gifts of books, manuscripts, musical recordings, and other materials, made outright or by bequest, allow the Library to make valuable additions to their collections. Gifts of items in good condition and compatible with equipment now being used are welcome.

All gifts of books, equipment, or other library material are accepted subject to the approval of the University of Texas System Board of Regents. The University reserves the right to determine retention, location, cataloging treatment, and other considerations relating to use or disposition of gift material.  Saleable titles that are not accepted for inclusion in the Library's collections will be sent to a book resale company, with proceeds from the sale going to the Library.

The appraisal of a gift to the UT Arlington Library for income tax purposes is the responsibility of the donor. The UT Arlington Library cannot appraise gifts received. Donors may wish to discuss prospective donations, appraisals, and tax considerations with appropriate financial or legal advisors.
