During periods of high use, such as before final exams, the FabLab may implement a waiting list for in-demand equipment, such as the 3D printers, laser cutters and embroidery and sewing machines. This waiting list is not a reservation system, but serves as a means to keep track of who is next in line for certain machines and allows learners to comfortably work elsewhere in the space until their turn comes. Please abide by the following guidelines in order to keep the waiting list system running smoothly:

Gifts for General Collection

Gifts are accepted with the understanding that they become the Library's property and that the Library reserves the right to determine retention, location, cataloging treatment and other considerations relating to use or disposition.

Privacy Policy of the UT Arlington Libraries

Passage of the USA Patriot Act in 2001 has compelled many libraries to publish their policies for the protection of the privacy of their users within the framework of that federal legislation. Statement on Potentially Harmful Language

UTA Libraries values research and open access to our materials, but acknowledges that these materials may contain outdated, harmful, violent, and discriminatory content.  Descriptions in our catalog, finding aids, and digital collections are being updated with appropriate language when possible. UTA Libraries seeks to balance the preservation of this history with sensitivity to how these materials are presented to researchers. In some cases, the creator's original language will be retained, but content warnings will be used to indicate this.

Streaming Video Service Policy This policy outlines the library's policy on our streaming video service.
U.S. Government Publications

The UT Arlington Library is an official depository for documents produced by the U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO) through the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP). This policy provides an overview of the UT Arlington Library's participation in this program.

UT Arlington Course Textbooks Collection Policy

Because student textbooks are readily available in bookstores, and the Libraries' space and funding are finite, purchasing a copy of each textbook used in all UTA courses would diminish the Libraries' ability to serve the University community with new, unique, and large or costly resources. Thus, textbooks used in most University courses are not routinely acquired for the Libraries' collections. However, some textbooks may be acquired as general introductions to a subject or as surveys of a discipline if the information presented is not available elsewhere.

Visitor Conduct Policy The University of Texas at Arlington Libraries are committed to providing users with a safe, welcoming physical environment to promote life-long learning and an atmosphere conducive to study and research.
Youth Access Policy The UT Arlington Library provides a welcoming environment conducive to research and life-long learning. Children and young adults are welcome to use the facilities under the these guidelines.
