UT Arlington Library Academic Freedom Statement A strong intellectual freedom perspective is critical to the development of academic library collections and services that wish to meet the needs of the entire academic community. The Libraries at the University of Texas at Arlington purchase information resources aimed at adult, university-related curricula. In the interest of research and learning, it is essential that we make available information that represents a variety of perspectives on subjects that may be considered controversial. It is our policy not to act in loco parentis, in keeping with the principles of equal access to information and materials for all customers. Therefore, the UT Arlington Library do not restrict any customer, including children, from access to any type or class of materials or from any information in the Libraries. If a parent or guardian does not wish his or her child to access particular materials, the parent or guardian should discuss restrictions with his or her child in the context of their parent-child relationship. |
