Please handle all materials with care and follow these rules while using them:

• Use pencils only.
• Keep all materials on reading tables or book trucks during use.
• Do not lay anything on top of materials.
• Handle materials carefully with clean hands, touching only the margins if possible.
• Use white cotton gloves (available at the Reference Desk) while examining photographs and negatives.
• Do not add or remove marks from materials.
• Do not use the materials for tracings and rubbings.
• Maintain the order and arrangement of archives and manuscript materials. Do not separate materials from folders. Please report any irregularities regarding arrangement to a staff member.
