Focus On Faculty
Wednesday, October 12, 2005 John P. Maruszczak, Associate Professor of Architecture, At the October 12 Focus on Faculty lecture, UT Arlington Architecture Professor John Maruszczak will discuss four of his awardwinning projects and provide a short introduction to "pulp architecture." P.U.L.P. architecture is a series of interrelated, collaborative research enquiries, studios and projects which attempt to negotiate the contemporary moment in the profession and discipline of architecture. P.U.L.P is a working model contained within the acronym: Pedagogics &emdash; Urgency &emdash; Liminal &emdash; Portal. Maruszczak has worked in partnership with Roger Connah on several projects. These include Chromotopia (Unbuilt Architecture Design Award, Boston Society of Architects, 2003); Interface, Animall and Brautigan (Finalist, Dead Malls International Competition, L.A. Forum for Architecture/Urban Design, 2004); and Pulping Detroit @ 00:00:56 (Cranbrook Art Museum 2004, Detroit Art Center 2005). Free and open to all - Light refreshments |
