Friends of the Library Holiday Meeting
The Friends of the UT Arlington Library holiday meeting this year will offer a Dickens Christmas Celebration
featuring Tony Arangio giving a dramatic reading of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol.
The meeting is on Friday, December 9, 2005, at 7:30pm in the Central Library's sixth floor

Tony Arangio was born in Passaic, New Jersey, and received his
Ph.D. from Tulane University. He is a thirty-six year resident of Arlington.
Arangio
joined the faculty of UT Arlington's Graduate School of Social work in 1969 and in 1981
he left the university to start his own business as a
consultant and private practitioner. He has worked in radio,
television, commercials, theater, and movies, and has hosted award-nominated and
-winning television shows on Arlington
cable. Arangio has been president and board member of Theater Arlington for fifteen
years and for the past twelve years he has been an administrator for the
Arlington Independent School District.

UT Arlington Library's GIS Program is pleased to
announce the development of GIS News, a complete resource
that provides all of the most current Geographic Information
Systems news, discussions, employment opportunities, and
cutting-edge research. Available online at

date with the exciting world of GIS and web mapping has
never been easier.
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are
computer systems that aid in the management and analysis of
geographically referenced data. GIS allows the user to link
location or spatial data with tabular data in order to see
relationships and patterns. If you have a map, tabular data,
a computer, a GIS software program and a question, you can
utilize GIS to answer your question. For more information

Student Print Quota In Effect Spring
2006
Beginning in the spring semester 2006, UT Arlington students will have a
$70 quota for free printing using OIT and Library printers during the spring/summer semesters.
This quota calculates to 700 pages of single-sided B&W laser printing at $.10 per page or 933
pages of double-sided B&W laser printing at $.15 per sheet. Once a student has used his/her
quota then he/she will have to pay for all subsequent printing for the academic year. Students
will use their Mav Money account for this purpose. During the fall semester of 2006, the quota
for the academic year will be $100. Students will need their Mav Express Card to release all print jobs.

Special Collections Exhibit:
New Dimension: the Photography of Cirrus Bonneau & Ana Beaulac
An exhibition of selected photographs from a new acquisition will be on display in the
UT Arlington Library Special
Collections from December 5, 2005 through February, 2006. The 25 black and white photographs feature images of local
cemeteries and events taken during the 1980s.
The exhibit is located in
Special Collections on the Central Library sixth floor (to the left
when exiting the elevators). Hours are Monday 9am - 7pm and Tuesday-Saturday 9am - 5pm. Free and
