The Fabulous Freebirds: Badstreet USA

Many wrestling experts believe that Michael "P.S." Hayes, Terry "Bam Bam" Gordy, and Buddy Roberts were the most successful three-man tag team of all time. With their Georgia pride and villainous ways, the group from "Badstreet USA" (after a rock single cut by Hayes, who was also a singer) served as perfect foils for the clean-cut Von Erichs. After Terry Gordy slammed Kerry Von Erich's head in a steel cage door following an important match for which Michael Hayes had served as guest referee, the dueling trios lit up the Dallas territory throughout most of 1983. "Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin, who also competed in WCCW during this time, joined the group in 1990, when they were competing in media mogul Ted Turner's World Championship Wrestling.
