Pioneer of Open Education Presents at UTA

Yesterday UTA Libraries in partnership with the LINK Research Lab welcomed Dr. David Wiley, a pioneer of open education, to campus for a public presentation held in the Central Library.

The event kicked off with an announcement about the UTA CARES grant program, sponsored by the Libraries, which recently awarded its first round of grants in support of projects that further open education at UTA. Hi there,

If I could take a moment to introduce myself. I’m Michelle. I’m your Open Education Librarian, and I joined the team at UTA Libraries about six months ago to save you money. I’ve asked you what you think about textbooks, and I want you to know that we hear you. Textbook costs are a problem. We have a solution. It’s called open educational resources (OER).
