Over the years, the UT Arlington Fine Arts Library had accumulated a sizable collection of print sheet music scores. Thanks to an internal library grant, it was possible over a three month period in 2016 to digitize a small sampling of this collection. It is hoped that it will be possible in the future to digitize the remaining pre-1923 scores in this collection. By making this collection available to a global audience, researchers worldwide will have the ability to study the history of the United States from a unique perspective since sheet music from this era can reveal much about public opinion and the social and political issues of pre-1923 America.
