About the Collections - Special Collections

Over several decades, the UT Arlington Library's Special Collections has built a diverse research collection focusing on Texas, Mexico from 1810 to 1920, the U.S. War with Mexico (1846-1848), and the cartography of the Texas coast. Materials in virtually all formats are available to researchers. The holdings can be divided into the following categories:

Archives
Information about labor, university, and political archives.

Digital Collections
Access to Cartographic Connections and Tejano Voices.

Historical Manuscripts
Information about personal papers, diaries, family collections, and other manuscript resources.

Map Collections
Information about maps, atlases, and other cartographic items.

Print Collection
Information about the book, journal, newspaper, broadside prints, and sheet music collections.

Photographs
Information about extensive photographic holdings.

Spanish Language Collections
Information about manuscript and microfilm resources in Spanish.
