Access to the Collections

Special Collections is open to UT Arlington students, faculty, and staff as well as individuals not affiliated with the university. All users must fill out an Application for Use of Materials form and show a valid driver's license or student ID with a photograph on their first visit. All materials are retrieved by staff, and there are some restrictions on the number of items a researcher can use at any one time. Please see Guidelines for the Use of Special Collections Materials  for details.

Online access to Special Collections' books, archives and manuscript collections, and other materials is available through the UT Arlington Library Catalog. Special Collections has in-house finding aids for those materials not cataloged in the UT Arlington Library Catalog, such as newspapers, most maps, sheet music, and photographs and negatives. Some finding aids are available online

Researchers from out of town are strongly encouraged to call in advance of their visit. Phone: (817) 272-3393; Fax: (817) 272-3360; E-mail: spcoref@uta.edu
