Services for Undergraduate Students

Central Library Service Zone

In Central Library's first floor service zone, you can check out books, laptops, and other technologies, consult with library staff about research questions, and receive technology assistance from the OIT Help Desk.

Course Reserves

Find the resources your instructors have put on reserve. Many will be available online, others will require that you check out the materials from Central Library or one of the branch libraries, Architecture and Fine Arts Library or Science and Engineering Library.

Course Guides

Librarians have created guides to assist you with specific courses. Select guides by type. If there is no guide for your course, consider using one of the topic or subject guides.

Subject Librarians

There is a librarian assigned to each UTA discipline area. Subject librarians can help with any part of the research process.

Group Study Rooms

Each of the libraries on campus have group study rooms that students can reserve for 3 hours at a time.

Tutoring

Tutoring is available on the 2nd floor of Central Library. Appointments can be made at 817-272-2617 or here.

Writing Center

The UTA Writing Center is located on the 4th floor of Central Library. Students can make appointments here.

Research by Subject

The Libraries' Subject Guides can be used to identify the resources you need to complete research projects. Guides will also include links to relevant tutorials, information about citation styles, and the contact information for your subject librarians.

Online Journal System

As part of the commitment to increasing open access to research, the UTA Libraries provide online hosting for academic journals for UTA faculty and students. Online Journal Systems (OJS) not only hosts your academic publications, but also provides the entire global research community access to your articles. For more information, contact your subject librarian.

Citation Managers                                        

There are several tools that can be used to help manage and cite the information you use in your research. The Libraries' provides free access to Refworks. Others include Zotero and EndNote.

InterLibrary Loan

Occasionally, the Libraries' will not own the materials you need for your research. We will borrow them from another library in order to lend it to you.

 

FabLab

Bring your ideas to life in the Libraries' FabLab. We offer 3D printing, multimedia software, and other fabrication equipment. For further information, contact Katie Peery, FabLab Director.

Telepresence Robots

Unable to make it to the library? Check out a telepresence robot to go to a group meeting or an event in the library.
