Description -   On December 14, 1845, General Manuel Romero and the highest-ranking officers of the garrison at San Luis Potosi issued the pronunciamento that would become known as the Plan of San Luis. The conspirators stated their reasons for the uprising, accusing the federalist Herrera government of undermining the army and acquiescing to the demands of the United States with regard to the Texas question. The generals called upon Mariano Paredes y Arillaga to seize control of the nation’s capital.
