Description -   Enclosed in this letter is an extract of General Order No. 2 directing Prevost for duty at Ciudad Mier. He was the only medical officer in an eighty-man detachment sent twenty-five miles from Camargo. Prevost relates how a party of Texas Rangers on a scouting expedition had their horses stolen by the Comanche when the Texans neglected to observe normal military security at night.
