- The Dismal Scientist: An Economic Information and Economic Analysis Web Site
The Dismal Scientist provides a "quick summary of major economic releases, along with an economist's perspective on its implications" and a summary table of the main indicators. Regional data for all 50 states, Washington D.C., and 57 metro areas can be ranked by different criteria. Also includes historical and forecast information for geographical level variables and an economic data series dictionary.

A comprehensive site of free, easily available economic time series data useful for economic research, in particular economic forecasting. Over 100,000 time series are available. Users can build charts of the series on-line without the need to download the data and using their own charting software.

FRED provides historical U.S. economic and financial data, including daily U.S. interest rates, monetary and business indicators, exchange rates, and regional economic data for Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee.
