Three hundred forty-two Texas prisoners, consisting of James Fannin’s command captured at the Battle of Coleto and those of Amon King and William Ward captured at the Battle of Refugio, are executed at Goliad. Twenty-eight men escape; 20 more are spared, being deemed useful to the Mexican Army.
