ACRL 2017 Panel Discussion On The Library’s Role In Transforming Partnerships Across Campus

On March 23, I participated on a panel discussion at the Association of College & Research Libraries (ACRL) 2017 Conference in Baltimore, MD. The panel was titled "Casting a Wide Net: The Library’s Role in Transforming Partnerships Across Campus" and included four panelists all discussing innovative faculty-librarian collaborations on their campuses. My portion was about the Maker Literacies Task Force and our work with subject faculty at UTA in the Maker Literacies pilot program. ACRL has made our slides with audio available through March 2018 (and I hope they decide to leave them up permanently, there is no explanation for why they're only available for one year).

Co-panelists included my former colleague from the University of Maine, Jen Bonnet, who talked about an interdisciplinary grant proposal partnership. Jen was also the moderator. It was my great pleasure to meet Melissa Gomis, University of Michigan, who talked about collaborative design and curation of film exhibits and Sally Neal, Butler University, who talked about their student staffing initiative for information literacy instruction.
