Lieutenant Springer Jones of Mitchell, Nebraska, goes through a tight turn closely pressed by Bill Jernigan of Dallas, in a Ferrari and Warren Turner of Kansas in a Chrysler-Allard in featured fifth race speed event at eagle Mountain National Guard Base. Jones, who won a previous race in his Jaguar, did not place in this event, won by Riddelle Gregory of Austin in a "C"-type Jaguar.
