Printing and Scanning

How to Print from Library Computers

  1. Print your work as you normally would. A pop up window will appear on your screen confirming the cost of your job and allowing you to cancel if necessary. NOTE: To save paper and money, duplex printing (both sides of the page) is available.
  2. In the pop up window, enter the "Owner name" and "Job name." This information will help you identify your print job and distinguish it from work being printed by other users.
  3. Go to the designated Print Release Workstation.
  4. Enter your NetID.
  5. Swipe your Mav Express Card.
  6. Select your print job from the list (based on the "Owner name" and "Job name" you created in step #2).
  7. Your job will begin printing. The first page will be a cover sheet listing your Owner name, Job name, how many pages you printed, how much it cost, how much money you have remaining on your Card, and other details.

Payment Methods

Pay-As-You-Go Printing

To pay for printing services, users must load money onto their Mav Express card at the Mav Express Website or at the Mav Money vending machine on the second floor of Central Library (near the printers). The Mav Money vending machine accepts $1, $5, and $10 bills.

Print Card

Visitors without a Mav Express card can buy a Print Card from the Print Card vending machine located on the second floor of Central Library (near the printers). The Print Card costs $1 and will have a $0 balance. Clients can add as much money as they desire in increments of $1, $5, $10, or $20. The kiosk only accepts paper currency and gives no change.

Refunds

If the printer malfunctions after you pay for your print job, you may be able to request a refund. A refund request for items printed in the Library should be submitted at the OIT Help Desk, located on the second floor of Central Library.

Alternatives to Printing

All of the Library and OIT public PCs have USB ports that support flash drives (a.k.a. pin or thumb drives). As an alternative to printing, students can save files to their own flash drive for future reference.
