Demand/Patron Driven Acquisitions

Demand/Patron Driven Acquisitions purchases book titles from the current 2 years based on requests placed by faculty or PhD students through Interlibrary Loan. The book will be purchased for the Libraries’ collection, but the requester will get first use of the material.

  • Go to the UT Arlington Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Online system:
  • Log in using your NetID and password. (First time users will be prompted to set up their interlibrary loan profile when they enter their NetID and password.)
  • In the Main Menu select Book.
  • Fill out the form completely and “Submit Request”.

Some of the criteria for a request to fall under this service are:

  • The book must be in print.
  • The book must be in English.
  • The book must be non-fiction and scholarly in nature.
  • The book cannot be a textbook, workbook or manual.
  • The book cannot be a self-help book.

Another means to request that the library purchase a book is by completing the “Suggest a Purchase”  form.
