A new grant program from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) provides funding up to $10,000 per grant for full-time faculty. The program supports the adoption, modification, redesign, or development of courses that use open educational resources (OER). At this time, only lower-division courses offered within the Texas General Education Core Curriculum are eligible.

To support UTA faculty interested in submitting an application for this grant funding, the Libraries are hosting two OER Grant Application Sprints in Central Library 315A on the dates listed below. RSVP is appreciated, but drop-ins are also welcome. Librarians will share tips for completing the application, assist with locating OER, define support for open education at UTA, and review application materials.

1:30 - 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 2

9 a.m. - noon on Monday, August 6

Applications must be submitted to THECB by personnel in UTA’s Office of Grants and Contracts Services. In order to meet the August 20 deadline, the Office must receive completed "blue sheet" with application attachments by August 17. Successful grants will be processed as individual awards; therefore, no indirect costs will be collected by the university from the total allotment. Contact Michelle Reed for additional information.

Updated August 13: Deadline for submitting applications to UTA OGCS extended to August 17.
