Before You Visit

Special Collections is open to researchers using its materials subject to the policies linked below.  The Special Collections reading rooms are not available for independent study, group study, or meetings.

One of our major goals is to acquire, preserve, and make available to researchers historical materials of enduring value reflecting the history of Texas, Mexico, the U.S.-Mexican War, The University of Texas at Arlington, and the cartography of the Greater Southwest.  Many items housed in Special Collections are rare and irreplaceable.  The links below describe some of our policies, which are designed to protect the materials while they are being used. Thank you for taking the time to read them before using our collections.

University of Texas at Arlington visitor parking information

Visitors to UT Arlington have more options for paying to park on campus when using a new mobile app, MobileNOW.

A daily permit allows the vehicle to park in any student or general permit parking lot until 11:59 p.m. UTA police officers use a handheld, cellular device that checks license plates.

Metered parking spaces are now part of the MobileNOW parking app. Log on to the mobile app, enter the location code on the meter, and pay for parking. Register to receive a text message when the paid time is about to expire.

Another parking option is the Maverick Parking Garage.
