Description: Texas National Guard at Camp Hood. Troops of the 49th Armored Division, Texas National Guard, are inspected prior to parade by Lt. Gen. E. O. Thompson, right, commanding general of Texas National Guard, and Maj. Gen. Albert Sidney Johnson, Dallas, division commander, from half-track. The parade climaxed the first week of a two-week encampment at North Camp Hood. The 2nd Armored Division, Regular Army unit based at Camp Hood, and a New Jersey Guard division, comprise one-third of nation's armored force along with the 49th.
