Description: The last B-52 bomber awaits takeoff at Carswell Air Force Base. Tech. Sgt. John Slagle of the Carswell security police guards the bomber before it takes off for its new home in Louisiana. The departure ceremony was attended by about 250 people. This is following the decision to close the base as part of the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Commission of 1991.
