Description: The backyard of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Thompson, 1408 Crowley, has been named a first-place winner in the backyard category of the annual Christmas lighting contest in the northwest Arlington subdivision of Lake Interlochen. Cash prizes were awarded to homeowners placing first through third in both front- and backyard categories based on the decisions of anonymous judges, said Carol Findlay. Findlay reports that one of the families will donate their winnings to a charity. Other winning front yards belong to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Anderson, 1205 Crowley. Also placing in the backyard division are Mr. and Mrs. Dick Kahle, 1417 Porto Bello, and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Vernor, 1200 Crowley.
