Description: Two veterans are pictured here. They are, from left to right, John Whitaker and Bart Marshall. They are two of the eleven men who traded in their military uniforms for a position on the staff of the veterans division at United States Employment Service (USES). Mr. Whitaker holds the Silver Star, Purple Heart, and Combat Infantryman's Badge. He is a hero of the American beachhead at Salerno and served with the 36th division in North Africa and Italy. He is wearing a suit. He owns a company and lives with his wife and son John III at 1829 Stella. Mr. Marshall served as a yeoman first class in the Navy. He served in Australia, New Guinea, Admiralty Islands and the Philippines. He has the Asiatic-Pacific ribbon and Philippines Liberation ribbon. Mr. Marshall is wearing a double breasted pinstripe suit. He and his wife have an eighteen month-old daughter Mary Lou. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, December 30, 1945.
