Title: Captain Troey Daffern
Description: Captain Troey Daffern, a B-26 pilot of the 9th Air Force, arrived home in Fort Worth, Texas, the day after Christmas. Captain Daffern has 79 missions over France and Germany to his credit. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with twelve clusters, presidential unit citation, and a European Theater Operations ribbon. Captain Daffern is spending a month-long furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Daffern, and his wife, Mrs. Wilda Daffern. The 21-year-old captain is a graduate of Sweetwater High School. He entered the Air Force in 1941 and received his wings at Blackland Army Air Field in 1943. Captain Daffern is standing against a wall, dressed in his military uniform.
