Hanging on the wall, above the fireplace, is a framed picture of John D. Waller, Sam Rayburn's grandfather, his mother's father. On the fireplace mantel are two more framed photographs and a clock. The clock was given to Rayburn by the Texas delegation when he was elevated to the speakership.
