Title: San Angelo in boxing meet. Joe Valadez
Description: San Angelo is the first city to enter the State TAAF boxing tournament scheduled in Fort Worth, Aug. 14-16. Corporal Joe Valadez has been training the team. Corporal Valadez wears his military uniform, as well as an unidentified man to his left. They pose from waist up. The San Angelo team features TAAF featherweight 1941 and 1942 champion Arlo Roye. Other team members are: flyweight, Travis George; bantamweight, Rudolph Valadez; featherweight, Mac Castleberry; welterweight, Wilbur George; middleweight, Howard Carley and heavyweight, Hubert Ellis. Published in the Fort Worth Star Telegram morning editions, July 18, 1946.
