Description: First Lieutenant Pete King on a 21-day leave is visiting his mother, Mrs. M. N. King. As a navigator, he flew fifty combat bombing mission over Germany in a B-17. He wears the European Theater ribbon, with two battle stars, the Air Medal with two clusters and the Distinguished Flying Cross. He will report for reassignment at Santa Ana, California, after completing his leave. He was a former Paschal High School football and basketball player and well known in Fort Worth amateur sports circle, although he now scale to 200 pounds compared to the 145-pound halfback, some golf friends barely recognized him. He plans a few more swings around the local golf courses before his leave ends. King is wearing his uniform and standing by a blank wall. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, March 16, 1945.
