Description: Movie star Judy Garland is in Mineral Wells, Texas to visit Camp Wolters and appear in a U. S. O. Show. The famous Wizard of Oz actress led a parade of 2,000 school children to the post office to purchase defense stamps. She is shown at the post office window purchasing her defense stamps from Postmaster D. C. Harris. Miss Garland is wearing a bow in her hair, a suit with lace around the collar, and a fur jacket over her shoulders. Mr. Harris is dressed in a double breasted pinstripe suit. A crowd of people are standing in the background, watching the exchange. Published in the Fort Worth Star Telegram morning edition, January 31, 1942.
