Description: Tarrant County, Texas is conducting their peace time registration for the draft. Dozens of patients at Fort Worth, Texas hospitals are being registered by volunteers. Mrs. Bertie Lee Kelly is shown signing up Lowell Bodiford. Mrs. Kelly is a registered nurse. She is wearing a hat and a button-up dress. Mr. Bodiford is the manager of the Parkway Theater. He is in Harris Memorial Hospital nursing a broken jaw he sustained a few days earlier when he quelled a disturbance near the theater. He is laying in a hospital bed, signing his registration card on a Life magazine. Published Fort Worth Star Telegram Morning Edition October 17, 1940.
