Title: Girls Service League
Description: The Girls Service League bought the old Winfield Scott Home to use as a home for underprivileged girls. The gardener and caretaker of the home for the last 16 years is S. R. Whitlock. He is shown ringing a gong. The Japanese gong is one of the gifts bought by the late Winfield Scott Senior for his new home. Mr. Scott never occupied the house; he died while it was being furnished in 1910. Mr. Whitlock is dressed in a button-up shirt, jacket, and trousers. His hat is perched on the radiator.
