Title: Cotton Bowl Classic 1949
Description: The Southern Methodist University Mustangs are facing off against the University of Oregon in the 1949 Cotton Bowl. The game is being played on New Years Day 1949. Heisman Trophy winner Doak Walker has led the Mustangs to their second straight Southwestern Conference Championship. The Webfoots are representing the Pacific Coast Conference. A special train from Portland, Oregon brought 220 football fans to Fort Worth, Texas. Handing out apples to those aboard the train are George Stadelman and Jeanette Grant. Mr. Stadelman was an all-American center at Oregon U. in 1928. He is dressed in a suit. Miss Grant is from Vancouver, Washington. She is wearing a blouse, a belt, and a pleated skirt.
