Title: They'll Roll These Onto the Heap
Description: "These Fort Worth lads won't mind giving up their rubber hoops- discarded tires- to the war program when President Roosevelt launches his scrap rubber drive Monday morning. The lads, both sons of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Lamb of 1515 East El Paso, are John, 10, left, and James, 7." It looks as though these two have been working hard because their clothes and faces are filthy. Both boys are wearing overalls and short sleeved shirts with some unidentified objects stuffed into their front pockets. John is looking off into the distance while smiling reluctantly, while James seems a bit less sure despite looking directly into the camera. Two young boys hide just behind John, one giggling as he looks into the camera, shyly covering his mouth. Parked cars frame the sidewalk. A couple of men can been seen chatting in the distance. Signs for a hotel, a grocery store, liquor, and more can be seen just above.
