Title: The east wing of the new Lena Pope Home
Creator: Alexander, Steven (Photographer)
Description: The east wing of the new Lena Pope Home was reduced to splintered wood and battered masonry Tuesday. The wind, acting in maddening circle, picked up the roof and dropped it. Harold Moore, one of the contractors, inspected the scene and estimated damage to the building at a minimum of $50,000. Debris from the building was scattered about the grounds. No one was in the building at the time, but the storm injured five persons.
