Title: Fort WorthSh. Aerial view. Shot of new channel that connects with branch of the Trinity River's West Fork to transport water from Eagle Mountain Lake into the upper part of Lake Worth
Creator: Bain, Bob (Photographer)
Description: Water Shortcut Halts Waste - City water department engineers completed a 2500 foot new channel, center, that connects with a branch of the Trinity River's West Fork (heavy line) to transport water from Eagle Mountain Lake (shown above). The new short-cut channel, tying in where a new dam had blocked the old channel (heavy broken line at left), had eliminated the former winding routes the water took through swampy lowlands. Water now flows down the shorter route.
