Time Frames Online (TFO)

Since 2003 the materials of Special Collections have been highlighted in a weekly feature, first in the Arlington Star-Telegram and now the Fort Worth addition of the newspaper. Time Frames regularly spotlights a photograph, map, or document drawn from a broad spectrum of subjects in our extensive collections of the history of Arlington, the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Texas, Mexico and the greater Southwest. A concerted effort is made to link the featured item to a holiday, historic or current event. Photographic images are particularly eye-catching with local Arlington and Fort Worth history as favorite themes.

Response to Time Frames has been very positive. Readers frequently clip the articles to keep or mail to others. Many readers have found their way to Special Collections to use our materials or view exhibitions. Others have found loved ones (or themselves!) pictured in featured photographic images and have called to order the image. And now you have an opportunity to view selected Time Frames features as a video!

You can read more about Time Frames in this article from the Fall 2005 issue of Compass Rose.
