Texas Disability History Collection

This is a position statement by the Arc of Texas on the settlement agreement between the United States Department of Justice and the State of Texas regarding Texas state schools. They are agreeing that even though things are going to change thanks to the settlement agreement, they will not be at the level and quality care people with intelectual and developmental disabilities deserve. They also inform that their position will still be the same regarding the well-being, social justice and advocacy the state schools need, and that they will keep fighting until they achieve equality and the right opportunities these individuals deserve.
